As Go London and the physical activity agenda gather momentum it is timely to plan and deliver a 2nd social marketing campaign. Based on the principles of social marketing this campaign will focus on the promotion of physical activity to the 50+ population.

Chapter 4 in Be Active Be Healthy (DH 2009) reflects the need to improve the physical environment in order to encourage and support physical activity. The learning network on 25th September 2009 called on a number of regional and local organisations involved in the promotion of an active environment to talk about their work on this agenda. As an NHS London Go London commitment to Energise the Local Delivery System for physical activity, two Network meetings have been held to disseminate information relating to the commissioning of physical activity and in particular the regional roll-out of “Lets Get Moving – a physical activity care pathway for the NHS”.
